The RAF Police Association pays tribute to Nigel Lacey, whose passing has left a profound sense of loss across our Association and the wider RAF Police family.

Nige was one of the Association’s true stalwarts. His unwavering commitment, loyalty and selfless service over many years reflected the very best of our values. He was always willing to give his time, support fellow members and contribute wherever he was needed, asking for little in return.

As one of the RAF Police Association’s Standard Bearers, Nige carried our Standard with immense pride, dignity and respect. At commemorative events and ceremonies, he represented both the Association and the memory of those who served before us with quiet professionalism and unwavering dedication. His presence on parade was a source of pride for us all.

Beyond his official roles, Nige was a trusted friend to many. His kindness, good humour and willingness to help others earned him the respect and affection of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He embodied the spirit of comradeship that lies at the heart of the RAF Police Association.

Nigel’s passing leaves a void that will be impossible to fill. His contribution to the Association, his service to our members and his steadfast commitment to preserving the traditions and values of the RAF Police will not be forgotten.

On behalf of the National Executive Committee and every member of the RAF Police Association, we extend our deepest condolences to Nigel’s family and loved ones.

Nige’s legacy will live on through the example he set and the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered with great respect, gratitude and affection.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember him.

Per ardua ad astra

Rest in Peace Chap
