Donald Charles Burrell | 29 October 2018 | Donald (82 years) was suffering from dementia at the time of his death but was very proud to have served in the RAFP as a Cpl in the late 50’s early 60’s. Cyril Hales | 5 August 2018 | Cyril served from 1976 to 1989 finishing his RAF service as a Sergeant on SI at P&SS (SR) at HQP&SS Rudloe Manor. He then went on to serve in the Avon & Somerset Constabulary. His death follows the return of cancer which was inoperable. At the time of his death he was 64 years of age. Cyril loved motorcycling and after retirement from the Avon & Somerset Police, he became a volunteer ‘Blood’ Biker’ delivering emergency blood products, medicines and organs for donation, across the country. Alec Benford | 20 March 2018 | Alec served in the RAF Police from 1962 to 1971 at Scampton, Troodos, Akrotiri, Lyneham and Gatow. After his RAF Police service, Alec joined the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and served for 28 happy years. In 1999, he joined Radio Devon and advised the public on road traffic matters. Alec was not a member of the Association, but he facilitated through Radio Devon, the existence of the South West Area Branch. | John Walton |

Bill Sykes | 3 March 2018 | London Home Counties are most saddened to announce the death of Bill Sykes who died in hospital on 3rd March after a fall a few days earlier. He has for some time suffered with severe pain in his legs which an operation last year failed to ease. Until his health interrupted Bill was an active and popular member of the Branch who was always available to stand in as Standard Bearer, He will be sorely missed. | Roy Laver |

Malcolm Lister | 28 February 2018 | It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the death of one of our stalwart members, Malcolm Lister. May he rest in peace. John Hull | 28 January 2018 | Today (7 Feb) I received a call from John Hull’s daughter saying he passed away on 28 January. She had been going through his address and Christmas card list and my name was on there. John was living in a nursing home in Saltney, Chester. He had been ill with kidney failure and died peacefully with his family around him. He wrote a note in his Christmas card saying how proud he was to have been in the RAF Police and how much due to ill health he missed the friendship of the association, in particular the NW Branch. I wrote back but don’t know if he was well enough to read it. His funeral will be at St Antony’s Church, Saltney, Chester, 11am, Tuesday 13 February. | Paul Carruthers |
Ray Orgill | 29 January 2018 | Ray had an abscess on a tooth last year, which was treated successfully, but the infection had entered his bloodstream and damaged his heart. He had been in a Care Home in Nailsea for a number of weeks receiving Palliative care. Ray’s wife Kath and his daughter Suzi, were by his side at the end. Ray was one of the Founder Members of the RAFPA in 1984. He was a Monumental Mason for over 30 years and provided valuable advice during the design stage of the RAFP/RAFPA Memorial,at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffs, which was dedicated in 2007. | Brian Flinn |
Derek Turvey | 17 January 2018 | Derek Turvey, a member of the Wiltshire Branch of the RAFPA passed away on Wednesday 17th January after a long illness. Derek served in the RAF Police from 1961 to 1973 and settled in Chippenham when he left the RAF. | Brian Flinn |

He is survived by his widow Barbara and his sons and daughter from his first marriage. A sad day for his family and for his many friends.
